POSITION SUMMARY The Executive Director, Total Systems Safety serves as the division leader of ECRI's Total System Safety (TSS) division, which encompasses ECRI's Patient Safety Organization (PSO) and TSS teams.
As a division leader, the Executive Director, Total Systems Safety is expected to develop and refine the Total Systems Safety strategy, create and execute on an annual/long-term business plan and budget for the Total Systems Safety division, create new business opportunities in patient and total systems safety arena, and contribute to and support the execution of ECRI's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
In addition, the Executive Director, Total Systems Safety ensures that all PSO and TSS processes and procedures are legal and compliant with all federal, state, and local laws, security standards/protocols, and are running smoothly and efficiently.
The Executive Director, Total Systems Safety will serve as a high-level representative of ECRI and will interact with high-level representatives from ECRI's clients, prospects, and other key stakeholders in the healthcare arena.

Essential Functions Statement(s):
Serve as the leader of ECRI's Total Systems Safety (TSS) division, including overseeing and managing the Patient Safety Organization (PSO) and TSS teams.
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to drive global alignment to the TSS approach and related work to realize that vision.
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and ECRI leadership to create both short-term and long-term workforce planning for TSS, including, but not limited to, integrating this plan into the division's operating model.
Develop, refine, and implement the TSS division strategy, ensuring that it aligns with ECRI's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Create annual and long-term business plans and budgets, in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and other key stakeholders across ECRI, including, but not limited to, effectively managing profit and loss (P&L) tracking and accountability.
Explore and create new business development opportunities in patient and total systems safety arena globally, as well as support business leaders in organization-wide business development opportunities.
Develop, refine, and implement TSS processes and procedures that are legal and compliant with all federal, state, and local laws, security standards/protocols, and run smoothly and effectively.
This includes, but not limited to, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed and are compliant with the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act of 2005 and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), appropriate security protocols/safeguards are in place for handling and storing Protected Health Information (PHI) and Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP), work accepted from clients avoids ECRI Conflict of Interest and HIPAA violations, and ECRI's PSO Policies and Procedures and PSO Security training remain up-to-date and compliant.
Direct and oversee daily and big-picture tasks associated with the fulfillment of ECRI's obligations to PSO and TSS clients, including, but not limited to, ensuring that we are building trusted client relationships and leveraging our expertise as the leading trusted advisor, leverage and utilizing value added services (e.
g.
, patient safety webinars/safe tables, assessment tools, and evidence-based resources), and ensure that all contractual obligations are met in a timely member and all service offering are effectively utilized.
Serve as a high-level representative of ECRI and interact with high-level representatives of ECRI clients, prospects, and other key stakeholders, as well as represent ECRI on global conferences and association meetings on issues related to patient and total systems safety topics.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
10-15 years' experience in patient safety, risk management, and/or healthcare quality.
Experience as a clinician (e.
g.
, physician, nurse, allied health professional, etc.
) providing direct care delivery.
Proven experience in leading, managing, and influencing large global teams that consist of employees from all levels of the organization, including a track record of leading teams through change.
Experience in causal analysis and patient safety investigative methodology (e.
g.
, root cause analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws and regulations in the patient safety and total systems safety arena (e.
g.
, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act of 2005 and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)) and experience implementing policies and procedures that are compliant with those laws and regulations.
Familiarity with the challenges across the healthcare continuum is a plus.
Experience in process improvement, project management, research, and data analysis are required.
Experience serving as a patient safety advocate.
Experience working with C-Suites in defining and executing global business strategies.
Experience with budget planning and oversight.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple and widely varied work streams/tasks.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet tight project deadlines.

Education:
A clinically focused bachelor's degree is required.
A clinically focused master's degree, master's degree in a healthcare-related field, and/or a clinical background with a Master of Business Administration is preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
